This is such a vital time to support you in discipling your children for as Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Scott Gilchrist believes his experience, education and the path God has taken him on as a parent and in his Faith walk have prepared his family and himself to serve in the Children's Ministry. Scott wants to help parents to disciple their children in the Word, grow their children in the Lord, and to help their family walk with the Lord as a family serving our God. He is pleased to be here and he looks forward to each day he gets to connect with the children and families here and see God working in their lives.
Scott arrived at Enon Baptist Church in 2012 to lead the Children's Ministry. That now includes all of our families and the Student Ministry (middle and high school). Scott received his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. He then received a Master of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University. Since that time, Scott spent more than 20 years working in child welfare as a Social Worker in Child Protective Services, Prevention Service, Foster Care, and Adoptions, as well as a supervisor for Foster Care, Adoptions, Adult Services, and Adult Protective Services at the Department of Social Services. This past year, Scott felt God calling him to serve full-time at Enon Baptist Church. God has blessed Scott with his wife, Annett, and their four children, Joshua, Emma, Haley and Aiden. They feel truly blessed to be serving God here at Enon Baptist Church as the Pastor of our Family Ministry.
