Jon Couch,

Senior Pastor

Jon Couch accepted the call to be Senior Pastor at Enon Baptist Church in August of 2019. We look forward to building our relationship with him as he leads us in the days, months, and years to come.

He can currently be reached at jon.couch@enonbaptistchurch.org

From his ministry website at thisdayministries.org:

Jon Couch is a grace addict and his greatest accomplishment is not what he did, but rather what God did as He took Jon's broken life and radically rescued and redeemed him from the enemy of self through the righteous royal blood of Jesus Christ.  In addition to his love for the Lord, Jon treasures his wife Kristin of 24 years and their 4 precious children.

Jon has previously served in the business world, as a senior pastor, and currently as an itinerant revivalist with This Day Ministries as he is focused on calling the American church to repentance, revival, reformation, and awakening through being God-centered, Christ-exalting, Bible-driven, and Prayer-saturated.  In addition to his pulpit ministry, God is renewing hearts around the globe through the This Day In The Word and Strength For This Day radio teaching ministries, as well as through an intentional and urgent focus on turning church attenders into disciples of Jesus that make disciples of Jesus through the additional ministry outreaches of Men For This Day, This Day In Business, Students For This Day, and Pressing On This Day.

Jon's goal for his life and for your life today is that we would all desperately seek the face of God in humble obedience and that His glory would rise above us as it devastates and transforms us.

"Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth."

- Psalm 115:1

Scott Gilchrist,

Family Pastor (Children and Youth)

This is such a vital time to support you in discipling your children and youth as Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Scott Gilchrist believes his experience, education and path as a social worker, therapist, pastor, husband and parent has prepared his family and himself to serve in the Children's and Youth Ministry. Scott wants to help parents to disciple their children in the Word, grow their children in the Lord, and to help their family walk with the Lord as a family serving our God. He is pleased to be here and he looks forward to each day he gets to connect with the children and families here and see God working in their lives.

Scott arrived at Enon Baptist Church in 2012 to lead the Children's Ministry and later the Youth Ministry.  Scott received his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. He then received a Master of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University. Since that time, Scott spent more than 20 years working in child welfare as a Social Worker in Child Protective Services, Prevention Service, Foster Care, and Adoptions, as well as a supervisor for Foster Care, Adoptions, Adult Services, and Adult Protective Services at the Department of Social Services.  He is also a Christian Counselor in a local Christian Practice.  God has blessed Scott with his wife, Annett, and their four children, Joshua, Emma, Haley and Aiden. They feel truly blessed to be serving God here at Enon Baptist Church as the Pastor of our Family Ministry.
